Meinir was brought up on Maesteilo Farm in Capel Isaac near Llandeilo. She attended Llanfynydd church school, and then on to Tre-gib School where she was Head Girl. She graduated from the University of Wales Aberystwyth in 2007. Meinir began working as a researcher for Telesgop in June 2007, and has directed on programmes such as 'Ffermio' and 'Digwyddiadau' since 2009. Meinir is looking forward to the challenge of presenting on Farming - though admittedly a bit nervous, 'but I've had all the help and support from the Telesgop crew'.
Farming and the countryside are very close to her heart so she's delighted to have the opportunity to correspond on the series. 'I'm really looking forward to meeting up with an array of characters across the country, and chatting with people who are passionate about the countryside. There is no better life than living out in the country and producing quality food 'said Meinir. The post goes hand in hand with her interest in working at home on the family farm of beef cattle and sheep with her parents Eifion and Doris, and brother Eirian. Since an early age she has committed to working on the farm every given opportunity, now with her own flock of Welsh Balwen sheep which she enjoys displaying in a number of shows throughout the summer. Another interest that lies very close to her heart is the Llanfynydd Young Farmers Club. Meinir feels deeply indebted to an organization that has given her so many unforgettable experiences whilst creating lifelong friendships. She undertakes a wide cross section of competitions from Public Speaking to Half Hour Entertainment, Eisteddfodau to Stock-judging and Shearing!
